The increasing use of hybrid and electric vehicles makes specialised technician training essential. This programme provides comprehensive theoretical and practical training for safe work on high-voltage vehicles, fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair of electric motors, batteries, drivetrain systems, braking, suspension, steering, active and passive safety systems, as well as environmental management and customer service requirements. The programme is linked to the Occupational Standard for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technician (CyQF/EQF Level 4).
Course Objectives
Participants will acquire the technical knowledge and skills required to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair hybrid and electric vehicles. They will be able to identify high-voltage hazards, select appropriate measuring equipment, apply correct safety procedures and manage hybrid and electric vehicle waste and batteries responsibly.
